Sailmail stations update (2020-05-07)

If you received this via Sailmail and clicked "yes" in the query-
box (recommended), then this message will update Airmail's station
and server settings for Sailmail.

New news: We've got new Satellite/Internet gateway servers online,
to provide continuity of service while we upgrade our main server.
The "Alt" servers on the list

Also we've had to take the Watsonville California station offline,
it will be relocated and upgraded once the travel restrictions
ease. San Diego and Friday Harbor span the same service area.

Satellite and internet access:
For access via sat phones or terminals use the numeric IP
addresses for faster access via Sailmail's Satellite Gateways.
Settings for Airmail 3.5 will be updated by this note.

Earlier Airmail versions will also be updated with this message.
To check or change settings manually, open Airmail's internet
window (lightning-bolt button), select a gateway andclick the
Settings button to check or change the settings as needed.
You can also use the "Delete" button to delete all settings,
and then click "New" to enter each of the following servers:

Remote-callsign Remote-host Port
-------------------------------------
SMVS1 18.208.67.17 50
SMVS2 44.232.19.175 50
WQAB964 174.67.172.21 50
Leave timeout, local callsign and password blank, they are
automatic.

Other news:

Iridium GO! Sailmail is a certified as an Irdium GO! application.
For details send a (blank) email to: iridiumGO@saildocs.com
For access via Iridium sat phones, iridiumPPP@saildocs.com

For Iridium GO airtime, take a look at Predict Wind-- same monthly
rates as others but fewer restrictions and no setup. This is
offered separately from PW's weather subscriptions, you can do
either/both/neither. And of course Saildocs has the best weather!

Other items:
If your radio connections are slow when receiving, then you likely
have a problem with electrical interference--
For more info send a (blank) email to: rxhelp@saildocs.com
Similarly, for slow transmit, send an email to: txhelp@saildocs.com

Also remember that all Sailmail radio channels accommodate one user
at a time, and are shared with your fellow members. Those folks are
your friends, so LISTEN carefully to the frequency before connecting
to the station. Just like voice, if the channel is busy then you
need to wait for a clear channel, or try another.

Info about grib weather-data files is available from Saildocs,
send a (blank) email to: gribinfo@saildocs.com
And for spot-forecasts, spotforecasts@saildocs.com

And to receive the latest version of this update file at any time,
send an email to: stations@saildocs.com

Any of these bulletins can also be viewed on the web, for example:
www.saildocs.com/spotforecasts

And finally, for any problems or questions please send us a note at
support@sailmail.com ("Sailmail tech support" in your address book).

Good Sailing, be safe!
